European city for arts and crafts
Created in 2006,the european city of artcrafts(CITEMA) Is a cultural association for patrimony,non profit making, Based in the Borgo Dolciano,situated at chuisi in tuscany.
The vocation of Citema is to make easier the cultural and the economic Development of the sector of international and european artcrafts.this platform is consecrating to increase the value of artcraft,to work on its promotion,citema is in the same time a place of practice to transmit ,to share th expertises and a center to stimulate the network of professionals,of association structures or of institutional structures,working in the sector of artcraft and design;
Citema is conscious of the leading part ,the craftsmen can play nowadays,they are not only conserving the cultural heritage,they have to be able to enrich it and adapt it to the needs of modern society,citema is mobilizing in preserving ,stimulating and developing pratical experiences,opening new perspectives.
In order to get the new generation of craftsmen able to be a part of the modern reality,citema wants to give them access to a network of technical,commercial and cultural competences and to help them to reposition themselves favorably in economic concern.the economic and technological development of the artcraft’s sector,in local and international view,is the main priority for citema.
Technological innovation,using the ICT,confronting with design are giving clues to permit the adaption of professionnal craftsmen,responding to the needs of a moving society.
