Centre of residences

CITEMA : meeting point, where all the professionals of artcrafts are invited to exchange expertises and to engage collaborations.

Vocation of this centre of creation and experimentation

  • Getting together local, European and international creators (artcraftsmen, designers, artists) in the same residence
  • Building bridges between the different local and international disciplines of the artcrafts’s sector (for the professionals of artcrafts, professional designers and publishers, art schools)
  • Favouring research and experimentation in connection with new technical tools the residence, an instrument to enrich the knowledge and techniques

Through the meetings of professionals being curious about the expertise of the other, the residence is an excellent place of intercultural dialogue.

These exchanges will permit to the young apprentices to get new competences, completing their training, optimizing their entrance in active life; the exchanges will also stimulate the confirmed professionals to open their techniques for modern creation, for the designee and for new technologies.

Les programmes

CITEMA is proposing to the artcraftmen, the designers, and the artists to live and to create for a limited period of time in the frame of two different concepts of residence:

  • “Outside the walls”, in the middle of local artcraftmen’s workshops, permitting them to be confronted by other conditions, materials and techniques
  • Inside the reception structure, where an equipment is available for the residents, corresponding to each project.

Modalities

  • The residents will be able to participate in daily activities, lead meetings and workshops and invest in real education programmes.
  • The residents will realize a work of research or creation without obligations of results; the interest of such forms of residence is giving birth to exchange, intercultural meeting.

Three modes of residence

  • Residence “training and transmitting” (1 to 4 months)
  • Residence “innovating and distributing” (2 to 4 months)
  • Residence “creating and exchanging” (3 to 6 months)
