The principle of a residence is not new. It consists for an artist to go to a place where are set up for him the ideal conditions such as material conditions, time, an inspiring place but above the fact of meeting with other artists by creating new forms.
The innovation in the residences organises by CITEMA is due to the fact that craftspeople change of place, they move but not to meet their pairs, but other professionals having other kind of activities, but all linked to creation, like artists and designers? In fact, in Arts & Crafts, the “Art” is an essential part, and a lot of artists describe themselves as craftspeople.
Le central idea is to create exchanges in all directions and all levels between two persons belonging to different worlds, but for them conditions are set up to create ways to communicate and build bridges.
