International Charter of artistic craftsmanship

CITEMA took part to the ceremony of subscription to the International Charter of artistic craftsmanship that took place on April 28th in Forterzza da Basso in Florence.

The charter, describing craft sector as the guardian of universal values, proposes a European program in favor of handicraft. This program will involve key points like communication and promotion, internationalization and commercialization, research and innovation, training, education, tourism and museums. The charter has been finally officially published thanks to the strong participation of three main contributors: Serge Nicole, president of Ateliers d’Art de France, Alessia Zaninello, Vice President of CNA (national professional organization for craftsmen in Italy) and Giorgio Natalino Guerrini, president of Confartigianato Imprese (national professional organization of craftsmen in Italy). This is the first step towards the sharing of this charter by the biggest number of participants at international level, so that handicraft becomes an important target for European policies.

Sostenuto

Thinking culture as a factor of economic and social innovation

SOSTENUTO aims at reinforcing the competitiveness and the capacities of economic and social innovation from the cultural sector in the Med space by accompanying its transformation towards new economic and social models. It should encourage decision-makers, country planners and financers to take into account the economic potential as well as the capacities of innovation of this sector. SOSTENUTO consists in testing the application of innovative practices in the cultural sector, in defining the conditions of their transfer and in promoting their dissemination within the Med space and beyond. It will focus more specifically on the innovative methods of organisation and management. Thus the following practices will be tested within 4 laboratories, ie: incubator, cluster, local exchange trading system and territorial governance. The work of these laboratories will be analysed and modelled, and then diffused in the Med space and beyond, favouring thus the appropriation of these new methods of organization and management by the cultural and creative sector, the improvement of its competitiveness and the increase of its insertion in the territorial public policies.
